Technology, healthcare and services in the capital
Porto Digital, located mainly in the Recife Antigo district, gathers software companies, startups, the creative economy and research centers, and has become a national reference as an urban technology park. Around it circulates strong demand for services from other companies: accounting, legal, recruitment, marketing, coworking, equipment and infrastructure.
The medical hub, concentrated in neighborhoods such as Ilha do Leite, Derby and Boa Vista, is another engine. Hospitals, clinics, laboratories and diagnostic centers buy supplies, equipment, maintenance, technology, specialized cleaning and catering. Boa Viagem and Pina gather offices, upscale retail and service companies, while the historic center still hosts traditional wholesale and retail trade.
Suape, the metropolitan region and the interior
South of the capital, between Ipojuca and Cabo de Santo Agostinho, the Suape Industrial Port Complex concentrates a refinery, shipbuilding, chemicals, food and large logistics operations. Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Olinda and Paulista complete the metropolitan region with industry, distribution and commerce. On the state's northern coast, Goiana received an automotive hub that drew suppliers to the region.
Beyond Greater Recife, the Agreste region has one of the largest apparel hubs in the country, in cities such as Caruaru, Toritama and Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, and the São Francisco backlands around Petrolina produce irrigated fruit, much of it for export. Many service companies in the capital serve these chains and look for similar customers in other states.
To understand the local business environment, it is worth following the Federation of Industries of the State of Pernambuco (FIEPE), the Commercial Association of Pernambuco, Fecomércio-PE and Sebrae Pernambuco. They appear here as context, with no partnership with the platform.
Why the online format works for companies in Recife
Recife has a good airport and good air connections, but flying is still expensive and time-consuming. A meeting in São Paulo or the South almost always takes the whole day, and so does a visit to customers in Salvador or Fortaleza. For someone who is both the owner and the main salesperson of the company, every trip means leaving operations on their own.
In the online round, meetings are short, happen back to back and require no travel. In the same session, a software house from Porto Digital can talk to an industrial company from the South, a distributor from the Center-West and a clinic chain from the North. To compare with the in-person model, calculate the cost of getting there using your company's numbers.
Contact details are only shared when both sides mark interest, so nobody leaves the round with a list of phone numbers they did not ask for. And since the meeting is short, it pays to arrive with your introduction ready: the 60-second pitch generator helps with that preparation.
