I am Marina, from Rumo Gestão, a financial consultancy for small service companies. I help business owners who bill well but reach the end of the month without knowing where the money went. We start by organizing the cash flow and separating the company's accounts from the owner's. Then we build a simple dashboard with three numbers the owner checks every week: cash, margin and receivables. In three months, the customer knows how much they can take out without squeezing cash and which service really makes a profit. I work with agencies, engineering firms and clinics with five to thirty employees. In this round, I am looking for customers with that profile and also accounting firms that want to offer financial management without building a team for it. A question to start: do you know today which service is the most profitable in your company?

What makes a good 60-second pitch

A pitch is the short introduction of your company: who you are, what you do, for whom and what you are looking for. In an online business round, each meeting lasts only a few minutes and starts with it. Whoever introduces themselves well in the first 60 seconds wins the rest of the conversation; whoever improvises spends the meeting explaining what they do.

A good pitch is spoken, not read. It has short sentences, everyday words and no superlatives: instead of saying you are the best, it shows the result you deliver. It is also specific. Saying you serve manufacturers with 10 to 50 employees in Santa Catarina helps the other person think of someone to refer; saying you serve companies of all sizes helps no one. And it ends with a question, because the goal of a pitch is not to talk alone, it is to start a conversation.

The order that works

  1. 1

    Who we are

The company's name and, if it makes sense, yours.

  2. 2

    What we do

In everyday words, with no acronyms and no industry jargon.

  3. 3

    For whom

The ideal customer, with sector, size or region. The more specific, the easier it is to refer you.

  4. 4

    The result

What changes for the customer after working with you.

  5. 5

    What we are looking for

Customers, suppliers or partners: the reason you are in the conversation.

  6. 6

    The question

A question about the other person's company, so the conversation really starts.

60-second pitch examples

Three fictional companies, from three sectors, following the same structure. Notice that none of them says it is the best: they all say who they work for and what changes for the customer.

Embalagens Vale Verde

We are Embalagens Vale Verde, a corrugated cardboard box manufacturer in Joinville. We make custom packaging for food and auto parts companies that need to protect their products in transit without paying for a box bigger than necessary. Our typical customer is a mid-sized manufacturer that buys from a large supplier, waits weeks for a small batch and has no one to talk to when the box arrives in the wrong size. With us, the minimum order is small, the technical drawing is ready in two days and the same engineer looks after you from start to finish. The result shows up in the freight bill and in the damage that stops happening. In this round, I am looking for purchasing and logistics managers at manufacturers in southern Brazil. And I would like to ask you: today, who decides on packaging at your company, purchasing or engineering?

Opening question: Today, who decides on product packaging at your company: purchasing or engineering?

Clima Certo

We are Clima Certo, an air conditioning maintenance company for offices, clinics and stores in Belo Horizonte. We handle preventive maintenance, regular cleaning and emergency calls, with a monthly contract and a dedicated technician for each customer. We mainly serve commercial building managers and facilities managers who have already lost a working day because of a unit that broke down in the summer. What we deliver is predictability: scheduled visits, a report with photos after every service and the maintenance plan that health inspectors require, always up to date. Here in the round, I am looking for property management companies and clinic chains, and also partners that sell and install units and would rather not handle maintenance. Tell me: how does air conditioning maintenance work in your building today?

Opening question: How does air conditioning maintenance work in your building today, and who takes care of it?

Frequently asked questions

What is an elevator pitch?

It is a short introduction of your company, 30 to 60 seconds long, that says who you are, what you do, for whom and what you are looking for. The name comes from the idea of introducing yourself in the time of an elevator ride. In a business round, it is what opens each meeting.

How long should a pitch be?

For the meetings in a business round, 60 seconds is the right length: about 150 words spoken calmly. The 30-second version works for group introductions and messages, and the opening question gets the conversation going.

Is the generator free? Do I need to sign up?

It is free and does not require signing up. Without an account, you can generate up to 5 pitches per hour. With a free account, you can generate many more and use the pitch in your business rounds.

What happens to what I type?

The text goes to the artificial intelligence service that writes the pitch and is not stored by Rodada de Negócios: the result only exists on your screen. Even so, do not include confidential information about your company or your customers.

How do I practice the pitch once it is ready?

Read it out loud with a timer, cut whatever goes beyond 60 seconds and swap difficult words for everyday ones. Record it on your phone and listen. Then test it live: in a business round you repeat the pitch in several meetings and adjust it after each conversation.

Can I edit the generated pitch?

You can, and you should. The generator gives you a good starting point with the right structure, but nobody knows your company like you do. Change anything that does not sound like you and generate another version if you want to compare.

Pitch ready? Test it in real meetings

In an online business round you present your pitch in several short meetings with companies looking for what you offer. Your company's first round is on us, with just your CNPJ (Brazilian company tax ID).
